Qseals means quality at a fair price and as we will mention later, this compound shares many qualities with the renowned Kalrez elastomer, that’s why we call this compound “Qseals K”, or shortened QK.
QK is very resistant to various scenarios with different compression levels, surfaces and temperatures. It also has high resistance to aggressive chemicals. QK shares most of its qualities with Kalrez but with a lower top temperature since it can reach temperatures up to 200°C while Kalrez can reach temperatures up to 327°C. Another highlight is that this compound is completely food grade, which means that it can be used in food processing as it is compliant with FDA and EC 1935/2004 certifications. The biggest difference between these two components is the price, since QK can be acquired for a more affordable price.

When to prefer QK in mechanical seals?
Because most of the processes where mechanical seals are used do not reach more than 200°C and because QK is a compound superior to AFLAS (TFE/P), EPDM (EPR), Nitrile (NBR), PTFE and Viton (FKM), at Qseals we recommend QK for all applications that do not exceed 200°C.
